I've cut myself twice but it's been great fun. My jewelry class requires that we create a certain type of ring but the shape is up to us. Mine as you can see it a kind of upside down tear drop. Tomorrow we go to the jewelry district to find a gem for our next project, a pendant.
That piece of wood jutting out is where you brace your piece as you file or saw. This is the ring in development.

Here is the piece after I've sawed off the back panel to a shape closer to the ring. I don't have pictures of it but I then filed down all the rough edges.
I'll keep you updated.
