Frazier & Wing
One of a kind

I am forced - I have no choice but to copy Cecilia Dean, editor of V magazine and co-founder of Visionaire. These hair pom-poms are too adorable. I'll let you know how it goes.

PS I love that she's wearing all H&M clothing.
Stu was a GEM and made me this plant sill.
Oh my mom is so cute. I told her about my super-love of the Lanvin Papillote and she went ahead and made me one! My dad even painted the picture! Here's her first version. (She may go on to make two more, for herself and my sis!)
I'm still thinking about bags like the Martin Margiela one below.
Bags like this are ubiquitous in many other parts of the world and they are quite charming to me... I'm pretty intimidated by the bin of leather pieces sitting in my house. I have most of the tools but I really fear that my attempts to work with the leather will border on arts and crafts - in a bad way. maybe this weekend will be the day I finally tackle that bin o' leather.

So I was cruising through style.com's images of the fall 2008 collections in order to log the jewelry action that's happening. I noticed theme after theme and felt compelled to organize them. It helps me to understand the inspirations and the way things are leaning. All which ultimately helps me to figure out where it is my work fits in and where I want it to fit in - if at all!click to view larger.

I never posted these after the workshop. I had a chance to try out this method of enameling called plique a jour.
Kind of like stained glass.
I didn't really have a chance to think about a design so this petal-y thing was the result of a quick move. I'm not unhappy with the turnout however.
i took an enamel workshop and finally got to enamel this ring i made. woot!
Katrina Lapenne was our teacher.
These are two rings I made a while ago - both have been in use since they were made. Silly me I never took a picture of either of them when I first made them.
I thought you would like to see them since all you've seen is wax thus far.
These pictures illustrate a couple of moments in the process of my ring making. This ring had a plan before I started but now...I'm doubting the path I've chosen. Sigh.
I took a workshop at Intima Press last Friday and loved it. All you folks who went to art school had a chance to mess with a letterpress at some point I'm sure. I would've letterpressed everything!!
My instructer Mindy Belloff's beautiful press. (She also pointed out how lucky she was to have a ligature in her last name.)
My Kabel case
The press is all locked up and ready to go!
My typeset quote
The happy result.
Although unfortunate in it's typo. Always proofread folks! This little guy will be my bookmark and will be a constant reminder that mistakes happen. Can you find it?? :D
It means 'egg of the hour, bread of the day and wine of the year.'
i do believe they're finally done.
i delivered these wedding rings to the happy couple this weekend. Made of the beautiful metal, palladium.
And I'll be at the wedding in May!
rings for other people
i would love to have time stop so i could spend days straight working on my projects. I'll have to settle for nights and weekends.
Hah.
I managed to eke out a skirt that is still in one piece but i don't have a picture. It's been cold and I'm pale and it's a summer skirt. Pics will come during a month starting with the letter J.
But my couch wasn't shy. It modeled the pillow I made from the Ikea fabric quite nicely.
Note the poster form Coudal Partners - it's been like that for three months.
UNCURL DAMMIT!
i want this.
if i could write a book this is what idea i would steal from someone else.
remember her?
eek i forgot to mention irene over at bloesem told me about this...
i've been keeping busy at my first real sewing attempt. yeah sewing pant hems is good and all but this time i used built by wendy's shirt pattern and made myself a sleeveless shirt. maybe next time i'll go for the sleeves + mega insanity of cuffs. I went to mood and with a little help from wendy and my friend amy i made the liberty shirt that i've been looking for. ebay has come up a little short and even laura ashley has bagged the florals. i had no choice but to make it myself!
i haven't quite finished it - no final hem and my machine doesn't have a buttonhole foot. but more or less - it's 90% done. will post the final update soon.
like my new glasses??? :)
Something just occurred to me.
For the past three halloween's that i've dressed in costume, my hair has been the framework for flowers or butterflies or both.
Courtesy of Hana, I've had a lovely party to go to every year and they usually came with a theme. This past year was flora y fauna and i can't say enough about how convenient that was for me.
It also occurred to me that people in the past have done it before (see below.) I don't think I'm in the same category as these women but I do see a floral resemblance. ;) Frida Khalo being one obvious and huge influence as well but since I dressed up as her I figured an image would be redundant. Regarding inspirations, I had that vintage Vogue cover in my files for a while now, hoping to do something with it. Unconsciously I must have, as I had forgotten all about it until now!
I must like to adorn myself - whether it's because i like to be amongst pretty things, or distract from my face, or hide behind accessories, I can't qualify for you. How about I not question it but plan the next floral fest for next year?
PS i miss that unibrow
