Indeed
It's been a long time.
And I apologize. I've just been a bit busy.
I think you all know me as not a daily blogger but hopefully you know me as a sincere and/or entertaining one. Thank you so far for tuning in... i promise to be back more on the regular, as long as there are people who are still interested.

Truant
Hey all -
I've been collaborating with Erin of Design for Mankind and Jessica of Shiny Squirrel and illustrator Samantha Hahn on Truant Magazine for the past 6 months. It features New York, my lovely hometown, and all it has to offer. Truant's main idea is to offer tips and contributions on travel from people who actually live there. Consider it a travel zine 'not for tourists.'

I'll school ya
i hope this isn't too presumptuous to post pictures of my school life. i figure you can always go on style.com if you want to see what the real deal is, but it's not so often you get to see the mess that is the first year student. ;)

Consuela Castiglioni

Where she is...
and where i am. ;)
I can only hope that I remember to have fun and have a sense of humor about it all like she does.

First Day of School

A ton of money later, and my favorite school supplies so far are these Guerra Paints. This is the packet they put together for all students from my school, which includes all required items on my supply list.
how thoughtful!

I love their logo.

Unknowns

Hanging downstairs from my jewelry studio in another metal working studio.
It looked really scary but when I touched it (shh) it felt like styrofoam!

Buckminster Fuller

Exhibition at the Whitney right now.
See more of my pictures here.
*edit*
I forgot to mention for my high school alumni out there, that my sister reminded me of the polyhedra we used to make for danny jaye's class using origami paper. We saw a few really beautiful ones at the exhibit and my picture taking was thwarted by a conscientious security drone.

Visionary
I am forced - I have no choice but to copy Cecilia Dean, editor of V magazine and co-founder of Visionaire. These hair pom-poms are too adorable. I'll let you know how it goes.

PS I love that she's wearing all H&M clothing.

Just for fun
I was recently at the Met and popped by the Superhero exhibit.
Snuck in a picture with Mystique's bum (or a mannequin painted to look like her..)
And these are for you...
Hussein Chalayan dress made of fiberglass and nylon.
The dress had visible seams where the panels met. it was pretty damn cool.

and the original Superman costume worn by Christopher Reeve. It's dark because it 'hologrammed,' switching back and forth from the Clark Kent costume to this one.

My everyday
the results from a bit of a scrub:
much better.
Also, reading about the fafinettes come to life on Vain and Vapid led me to share Stu's Fafi piece from a show of hers in '04. I rather like it. Just waiting for it to uncurl, again.
