london fashion week

I really do wish I could wear things like this around. Life would always be the costume party I always want it to be.

from giles deacon, gareth pugh and roksanda illincic.

i eat it.

Regarding this obsession with bird hats I've forgotten to show you a perfect quote from Isabella Blow of how I think I may feel about bird hats. Foul-related millinery has been inspiring people for ages apparently... (thanks for the reminder bworth!)

Isabella in her pheasant hat and a jacket by Christian Lacroix Couture, March 1997. 'I love the exotic Chinese cock in the country,' she said. 'I wear it. I eat it. I want to be buried in it.'

As I sit here and wonder where I put my lined duck boots (seriously don't know where I put them last and haven't seen em in ages), I want to share an affordable, unisex and warm boot I've come across (via theapt.com).

no right or left foot and you can cut the tops to any height you want check it out.

michon schur

newcomer michon schur, her clothing is quiet and clean. but her proportions and shapes are amazing.
so much that her models had a few things to say about what they were wearing...

reppin' the east side...

is it just me or is there a huge increase in asian models lately? It may be the increase in Asian designers (i was always wondering what all those kids were doing after fashion school) or these days people are saying it makes their clothing look more "refined" and/or "exotic" (see miu miu), hmm. Whatever it is, I swear there are more of them.

overall...

And yes overalls are back in but what i mean, is overall - this is what i've seen from yesterday's shows. whew.. this is a lot of work keeping up with this shizz.
And a note, I'm not necessarily posting my favorites but from the dozen or so shows from yesterday, but instead picked up on some themes that I've noticed. Either way, there are a lot of clothes to be gawked at out there.

And with the help of my good friend Helvetica Neue, here they are:

Left to Right: Oscar de la Renta, Max Azria and Luca Luca

Clockwise: Max Azria, Luca Luca, Myself by KK, and Proenza Schouler

Clockwise: Jeremy Liang, United Bamboo, Karen Walker, Google images, Max Azria, and Diane Von Fursetenberg

Shorts left to right: Proenza Schouler, Alice Roi, VPL
Skirts left to right:Jeremy Liang, Oscar de la Renta, Proenza Schouler

oh no you didn't

Yes i did.
I forgot to mention my favorite part - the details.

marky marc

It's true, I assumed there would be something a bit more exciting from Marc and it's probably because I'm a big fan. He's not for everyone. And he's not always on the mark (pun to be taken as you like it) - but overall he speaks to a generation through color, shape and lifestyle. I don't want my statement to be taken any more seriously than the world of apparel can be taken.

I decided that while I am enjoying his most recent show and see great potential in the wearability and the versatility in most of the clothing, I was reminded often of other famous people, characters and sometimes even inanimate objects. I thought I'd share those with you, just because it's more fun for me to do than repost what you can find anywhere else on the internet.

models models everywhere!

oh my!
well it's new york fashion week as many of you may have not noticed. because well, it's low on the list of life priorities. but hey, what the hell.
i've perused style.com's organized compilation of shows thus far and a few things i've noticed.

Black and white graphics ----

---------------------------Luella

---------------------------Tuleh

---------------------------United Bamboo

But what kind of springtime is springtime without color? Alls I'm saying is that I'm glad I stocked up on my american apparel highlight tanks. They'll look great when paired with patterns like the ones above.

---------------------------DKNY

---------------------------Diane von Furstenburg

---------------------------Jenni Kayne

And remember, with spring comes birdies, bunnies and weddings but also the rebirth of your white clothing.

---------------------------Philip Lim 3.1

---------------------------Sari something or other..

---------------------------(i forgot)

In terms of shapes ladies, it's loose, baby doll, and best of all Comfortable! (warning: people may wonder if you are with child. don't take offense. it's trendy to look preggers apparently.)

---------------------------Thakoon

---------------------------DKNY

---------------------------Sari again,

Oh and my pretties, there is so so much more!!! Don't you go away and get your fashion week nutrition elsewhere - i'll be posting again soon...
